The serious good Food & Wine Tour (31 August – 6 September 2023)


All costs are included from arrival at the Cape Town International airport. This includes all transport, activities, 3 meals per day, accommodation and a more than a reasonable amount of drinks.

Short tour description: (day by day)

Day 1:  Arrive at Cape Town International Airport and move to the hotel. Have sundowners, snacks and a private wine tasting at Chapman’s peak, tasting South African wine heritage. A local restaurant in Hout Bay with drinks closes out on the first day. 

Day 2:  Wine tastings in the Constantia wine-region with a French bistro-style lunch. Move to Stellenbosch with two more wine tastings. Dinner on a wine farm. 

Day 3:  Explore the Somerset Wine Region with paired wine tasting, blind wine tasting, and sampling some local olives. Lunch with Tablers and join them on one of their local projects. Finish the day with two epic last wine tastings with spectacular views over the Winelands. 

Day 4: Visit Pinotage’s home and have a lunch picnic. Visit the endangered bird sanctuary at Spier and finish off with world-class brandy. Dinner is a 3-course meal.

Day 5:  Visit the Paarl wine region, tasting delicacies from the region. Have pizza under the trees for lunch, followed by a grappa tasting. Next up is the KWV wine emporium, followed by another fantastic dinner.

Day 6:  The Franschhoek wine region will be explored by visiting four wine farms surrounded by mountains. The afternoon will be filled with wine-blending, where you can make your own wine and maybe even win the title of “Best Winemaker” of Round Table. A game drive provides a well-needed break before an exquisite dinner follows.

Day 7:  Wine and chocolate tastings before moving on to a cheetah experience in Somerset West. The tour finishes with the most iconic South African wine, the Meerlust Rubicon.
